Nanotech and Art Each week I discover more and more about the collaborations of different fields and the effects it has on those fields. In every week I have found that the collaboration of art with another field has a significant positive impact. The same goes for nanotechnology and art. Neuroscience and Art My only real knowledge to this point on the topic of nueroscience stems from fictional tv shows focused upon hospital drama, for example, Grey's Anatomy or Scrubs. All my dreams of getting a job in the medical field are due to a made up fantasy of what hospital life is from these shows. Then I am faced with reality. BioTech and Art Biotechnology and Art is one of the most controversal topics today. This spans from debates about GMOs in our food, experiments with animals, to species hybrids. There are two sides to this debate which include the ups and downs of biotechnology.  In biotechnology people work with live cells and are manipulating natural occuring cells and species. I believe the most controversal part of biotechnology today is the GMOs in our food. This was the most interesting peice of biotechnology brought up in our lecture notes for me and so when reviewing some of our resources I focused on food. "Agriculture in the Wild" and "This is your Brain on Food" are websites that represent the controversy in our food today. Since food is something that goes directly into our bodies I believe people put more emphesis on the matter because they think it will effect us more. Sickly Green My first impression when hearing Liza Grandia's presentation about the disturbing amounts of carpet in the United states was humorous. There is so much carpet in America! I couldnt believe it. But then my impression took a more serious and solemn turn when hearing about how many people suffer from neurotoxins in our carpet that cause diseases and ilness.
